Our work
Our first piece of work is the site you’re on.
We’ll show the websites we make for other businesses here once their owners say yes. Until then, here’s how this one was made.
One world, top to bottom
A single drawing runs the length of the home page: an elm at dusk, a fire on the ground, the roots, an underground sea and slate at the foot. Your browser draws it as you scroll, from one small program.
A sea that answers back
Lantern fish part round your pointer, comb jellies run with colour, and a manta glides behind the words. On a phone, touch the water.
Made for phones first
The tree, the fire and the sea are laid out again for a phone, not squeezed onto one. Touch a branch and its words appear beneath the tree.
Quick, and nothing from anywhere else
- Fonts, pictures and code all come from this site. No request goes anywhere else, and the home page counts them for you.
- Every word is real text that search engines can read, with a title, description and map of the site.
- With motion switched off, or less motion asked for by your device, the page shows its finished state: designed, not stripped back.
- Keyboard and touch reach everything a pointer can.
Yours won’t look like this
Every website we make is designed for its own business: your trade, your area, your photos and your words. The care is the same; the idea is yours.
